Trisscar padded drowsily around the hollow, letting out a shiver. SHe hadn't seen Valentina or Tyrant since she healed her friend's arm. I hope those two are okay, she thought.
Cody was there too, a lonely-looking fellow gazing sadly at Triss. His eyes would then wander to his paws, back at the fae, and then they rested to the floor area next to him. If he was indeed like the setter, she supposed she could speak to him in a normal fashion, not a careful one as she usually did.
"What's wrong, Cody?" she whispered, padding softly up to him. She looked him in the eye, and his glared back. She retreated.
The mutt's face became hurt again. "Leave me alone, Trisscar." Like everyone else, he added silently. Oculi trailed to his paws again.
"S-sorry," said the fox-dog, "I just didn't want you to be sad, s'all."
"Why should you care?" The young male was over Triss. He was lonely again. Oh, sure, the other dogs were nice and all, but no one really noticed him unless he spoke up and jumped right in front of their noses.
Does he need a herb for depression? wondered the young Shaman. Perhaps he just needs a friend. But he doesn't want me. Prob'ly someone his rank, not so important as Shaman or Top Dog. She sighed as she watched him walk up the slope, then began pacing. Something in her memory was troubling her, but she just couldn't place it.
It was at the borderfight! she thought triumphantly, turning to walk the other way. Something about that big dog is familiar. Those eyes! Could it be . . . She stopped, and let out a gasp. "Oh, no." ((Aww . . . my poor liddle puppy Cody . . . Laion and Espio can come in now.))

((okies! ^^))
Approaching the entrance to the Hollow came the shadows of two brujos, one a wolf, and the other a half-fox. The wolf paused several feet from the concealed entrance, and turned to the black dog who was hopefully with him.
He gave a warning growl, his ears flicking back, then spoke. "Listen...Espio...I'm only doing this because I know how it felt when I wanted to see my sister..." his gaze softened the tiniest bit as he spoke of Valentina, but then he resumed his glare. "Anyway...I'm taking a big risk, as I myself am barely in the gang...so I'll go get her, but you wait here." He waited for Espio to answer before he revealed the Hollow's entrance. Just then however, Cody appeared form the brush, giving the entrance away, but Laion quickly moved in front of it, blocking Espio's way.

Espio listened and nodded seriously before he noticed Laion jumping to a place a young dog was just before. Orbs glittering suspiciously, he glared at him for a moment, then lowered his head to lick an ebon paw. He still doesn't trust me. I guess I'll have to take my trust from him again. Seems like a decent creature, though, he thought with a sigh.
Now would be the hard part: explaining that he may not be welcome here. He chose his words carefully, but to him they still came out in a jumble of fibbing mess.
"Laion . . . I don't know if the dogs will exactly trust me . . . I mean, you still don't, and I don't really look like a seraph or anything . . . And my half-sister is pretty timid, so she may be afraid of me . . ." At least his words were partly true. Espio's auds pulled back as he put on a convincing face, plume sweeping the grass.
The Shaman lifted her nose and breathed in. There was the scent of the wolf Laion, and a smell of her father mixed in with something unfamiliar. Those smells meshed together with a tense feeling, and she sneezed.

Laion nodded somberly, bristling and shifting his weight anxiously, even while Espio spoke.
"I understand...but I will stand by, just as...insurance." He didn't recall much about Trisscar, other than seeing her in the healing den, where she seemed all about business, although thoughtful at the same time. He cast one last suspiscious glance at the fox-dog before he spun and padded inside the Hollow, where he found Trisscar pacing.
"Umm..Triss? There's someone here to see you," he flicked his ears back, eyes darting about the cavernous den. He had never actually spoken to her before, and he was feeling very on-edge, unsure about bringing Trisscar to Espio. "He...He says h-he's your brother, but...I-I'd like to stay close incase he tries to...pull...anything. So ma-maybe you should, you know, be careful." He finished, cocking his head to the side, and forcing his blue eyes to stay on her.

Just inside the Deserted Woodland, a pair of leathery nares flared, taking in the pungent scent of a strange male dog. A low growl rumbled in Tyrant's throat, and the happy, content emotions that had filled him on the walk back from the Lake was replaced by anger and the will to protect his loved ones.
Dark eyes flashed as he glanced over his shoulder at Valentina. He would not have her hurt. Turning, he padded swiftly to her side.
"Valentina, Espio is back. I'm guessing that you will not obey if I ask you to avoid him, but I must order you to be careful. You are wounded, and I don't want you hurt." He finished passionately, tail lifting and head high. The large dog leaned forwards and licked her muzzle, then turned on his heel and broke into a steady, determined lope.
---
"You shouldn't be here," His growl was low and dangerous as Tyrant stepped out of the foliage, dark eyes boring into Espio, hackles bristling. His lips lifted, and he released a warning growl.
Dogs watching who didn't know Tyrant well would've thought that he had gone mad. He was acting in a very uncharacteristic fashion. But he had already given Espio many chances - and now he was a direct threat to his gang. Something Tyrant would not tolerate.

((Okay, is everybody inside? I'm comfused . . .)) Espio was just about to pad forward to greet Triss when the big, angry Ridgeback appeared. He turned to glare at him, snarling, bristling when realization struck him instantly. He and Valentina where back, and Laion would jump to their side when he saw their apparent agression. He let his black lips fall and he took a step back, the light of battle fading from his midnight-hued oculi. He gave the wolf a hurt glance, then attempted to sidle past, hoping again his voice would be noticed and not his movement.
"Guess I didn't make a good first impression," he said, but it came out as a worried and exhausted croak. He looked at the small Shaman, lips rising instinctively to growl again, but then he hid his fangs and blinked at her. "I need to tell you . . . Dang."
Trisscar had squeaked, "Es-Espio!" and slumped to the den floor at the sight of him.

((erm...Triss and Laion were inside,Espio, Tyrant and Valentina outside. But ok...we'll just say we're all together again somehow. O.o)) The scent of the fox-dog had drifted into her senses slowly, but it hadn't really registered that meant he was here, as her mind was lost along another path. As Tyrant came back to her and spoke his name however, her eyes widened the tiniest bit and she felt her heart sink, thinking instantly of Reverie, who was still injured herself. She never made the connection to Triss at all.
As her mate finished speaking, and began to pad off, she nudged his hind quarters sharply with her maw, and trotted alongside him, giving him a dignified look, although when she turned away a light smile crossed her lips that he was so concerned. It faded as she remembered Espio though, the dark thing that seemed to lurk behind eyes, which were unlike anything she'd ever seen before. And the odd look on his face as his eyes met her icy pools...she shook her head and focused on staying next to Tyrant as they loped purposely forward.------------------------------------- Laion turned with round blue eyes as Tyrant appeared snarling, Valentina slinking out of the foliage to stand by his side. He opened his gold maw to speak to them, when he caught Tyrant's angry disposition, and instantly his own fur bristled. He gulped, realizing he shouldn't have taken this onto himself. He still didn't know if he could trust Espio, and was prepared to jump to Triss's aid, as his duty to his gang mates, but he was one willing to give chances...having no idea, of course, of the events that took place at the border just before he'd arrived looking for Valentina.
He saw Espio attempting to lope past him toward Triss, and pivoted so his massive, lithe body blocked the black half-dog's path, his head hung low, and all his black fur rising. He snarled, nose pressed against Espio's own nose, black lips rising to flash enormous wolven fangs before he snarled, "I told you to wait." It was spoken in a low tone, commanding the black dog to freeze. Icy eyes bored into deep indigo ones, and then he stepped away to approach Tyrant, although his ears remained locked on Espio's very breathing behind him.---------------------------------- Valentina had instantly appeared emotionless, her frozen optics turning from her mate to the black fox-dog she'd thrown herself before, ready to fight, not so long ago. She uttered a humorless laugh at his comment of not making a good first impression, about to speak, when she saw Trisscar faint.
She streaked to her side, glancing up at Laion as he put himself between Espio and Trisscar, whom she was now nudging with her nose, uttering her name and prompting her to wake up. "C'mon Triss, get up..." she prodded her with one creamy foot, then returned her eyes to Espio as Laion moved out of the way. She crouched over the shaman defensively, watching Espio as though he might disobey her brother and dare to approach Trisscar, although she remained silent.----------------------------------- Laion stepped squarely in front of Tyrant, inky auds laid back, so they completely disappeared into the thick black fur of his neck, which was still bristling and writhing from excitement. His head was hung low, but his enormous wolven paws were braced and his tail swayed defiantly behind.
He knew how bad this must look, and that it was probably a very bad idea to throw yourself in front of a snarling alpha, but his eyes trained to Valentina, and he thought again how he'd do anything for her, including risking his own life, and wasn't he prepared to fight the massive ridgeback before any way? Espio deserved the same chance to see his own sister, he believed, and having felt that way himself, he had to help. Adrenalin pumped through his wild veins.
His blue eyes had always lacked the piercing quality his sister's held, but now as he stared hard into Tyrant's blazing optics, his own were begging the top dog with everything in him to stop. They held the same expression as they had when he'd thought he was going to have to kill Reverie.
"L-Lord Tyrant....please, ju-just give him a chance!" he motioned his head in the direction of Espio. "He-he just wants to see his sister! T-Trisscar!" he said pleadingly, hoping Tyrant would remember Laion's own reason for coming here as well.

Tyrant's eyes flitted briefly to Triss as she fainted, and his eyes widened. He began to take a step forwards, toward the young shaman, but Valentina beat him to it. A greatful chuff was emitted, and Tyrant turned his attention back to Espio.
"No, you didn't," Tyrant said. He had calmed down slightly now, as Espio seemed to have changed temperment slightly since the border tiff. But he was still on his guard.
"W-" Tyrant's deep rumble was cut off as Laion leapt before him, and he frowned.
"Don't worry, Laion." The Top Dog rumbled reasuringly, "I won't...
"His sister?" Tyrant asked softly, staring over Laion's shoulder and meeting Espio's gaze. A tiny smile flitted briefly across his dark lips. Today was a strange day. "Is this true?"

((Hehe, sorry I got off before finishing meh post! My dad was here to pick me up.)) Trisscar's brown eyes fluttered open, and she blinked warmly at Valentina, who was nudging her to wake up. But she saw Espio again and gave a growl so large that her whole little body shook, her eyes wide and ears flat against her head. Anyone would have been terrified that the little Shaman could make such a threatening noise. But she fell silent as Espio's ears flicked back and he seemed to have a depressed aura about him.
-----
Espio fell more silent than usual when Laion growled into his face. As the wolf left him to speak to Tyrant, his tail drooped and he opened his mouth, as if to speak. Then he sat down, eyes closed tight, head lowered. His head hurt. New emotions he had never felt before blazed through him, like fear of the leader, the sadness about Triss, and pity for Laion in his position. But when the inky-blue wolf spoke, his eyes opened and he looked up at him. He had given him a chance.
Instead of thanking Laion and replying to Tyrant, he stood and raised a paw, ready to go forward to see Triss again. But he saw the female with the crystal gaze standing over her protectively. And Laion's words exploded through his head, although said softly. So he sat down again, looking longingly at Triss.
-----
The small Shaman got the idea and scrambled until she found her paws, then tried to nuzzle Val's ear as she so often did to her, but she was too short to reach. So she touched her nose to her shoulder and padded t'ward Espio. He let her sniff at his face and then stand by his side, still silent. Trisscar almost purred when her dark brother gave her the slightest lick on her ear. "Y-you're not going t-to kill him, are you, Ty-Tyrant?" She whimpered seriously, backing away from the tall ebony dog. ((Aww!))

Tyrant's eyes softened as he watched Triss get unsteadily to her feet and pad over to Espio, now sitting still, his head hanging. He was silent through their greeting, then a low rumbling laugh issued from his lips at Triss's words.
He shook his head, smiling.
"No, Triss, I'm not going to kill him," Tyrant assured her, padding forward to touch noses with the shaman.
"It seems, Espio, that you are not who you seemed to be on the night that I first met you. I am willing to give you another chance, if you explain your situation." Tyrant's voice was stern as he turned to Espio, mahogany eyes meeting those of indigo and holding them for a moment. Then, Tyrant moved his head to the side so that he could look over the fox-dog's shoulder at Valentina. He smiled, flashing her a quick wink before turning his attention back to the half breed pair before him.

Laion smiled greatfully as Tyrant spoke, and nodded, perhaps a little too excitedly, then stepped out of Tyrant's way. He padded back over to Espio, gave him an approving nod and a flash of a smile, and then sat down, still fidgeting, ready to leap back into action if need be.
The husky femme breathed a sigh of relief as her little friend came to. Triss growled louder than Valentina had thought possible at Espio, and though she herself didn't growl as well, she cast her piercing gaze up at the black dog, and slowly straightened herself. His entire demeanor seemed different from how he'd been at the borders. She took a step forward, as if to speak, but then stopped when Triss nuzzled her arm and padded up to him. She stared after the tiny fox-dog cunfusedly. First she was growling at him, then greeting him! Valentina shook her head and padded over to Tyrant. She brushed her shoulder against her mate's as she took her place next to him.

After his little half-sister came up to him and asked Tyrant if he was going to kill him, the ebony brute stood up again and looked at Laion. He was no longer a rash wolf that didn't belong in the city, but a great canine who would stick up for him. He nodded at him, and a slight hint of a smile flickered across his face. He saw Trisscar bounce away from him, then slump to the ground again, but as he cast her a slightly worried glance, he saw her brown eyes shining.
His auds shot up and pricked as the chesnut hound began to speak again. He frowned. What had he come here for? To tell Triss something important, but he had forgotten. "I'm guessing now just to see my little sister," he began warmly, but then he stopped, straightened, and his ivories flashed as he bared his teeth. His lips fell again, and he gave a grand sigh. He sounded too soft. He was Espio, a former leader, and a dark one at that.
Then he remembered what he had come for. As he remembered, he kept his face low and guarded. He was overthrown by none other than his former friend Desmodus, and the rest of his followers were killed, along with his best friend, a dark fae named Sarita. He left her as she was slowly dying, going to look for the only healer he knew: Trisscar. He had found her, trying to capture her and bring her back to his dying gang. She wouldn't ever trust him again after she escaped, or so he thought. And this second time he came, because he was . . .
I was going to kill Triss, he thought with horrible realization. He looked at her as her eyes gleamed with leftover fear and relief. Then he began to sob softly, shoulders shaking with the sadness as he sat down again. ((Espio's history REVEALED! lol. Poor guy. All me puppies are bummed out!))

Tyrant smiled at Espio's answer, and he nodded, although his brow furrowed slightly as the dog suddenly changed demeanor several times. Tyrant wasn't sure if he trusted the fox-dog yet. Something about him wasn't quite right. But Triss seemed fond of him, and, for now, Tyrant would put up with him.
"Well, I'll leave you and Triss to speak together," Tyrant smiled, appreciating the fact that the siblings would probably like some privacy.
He nodded to the siblings, then turned to Valentina and Laion, gesturing towards the Hollow with a large fore-paw, dark eyes twinkling. Leaning forwards, he planted a quick lick upon Valentina's muzzle, then padded calmly down the slope.
Once inside the Hollow, Tyrant padded straight into the middle and stood tall. Reverie had gone - probably to scout, or explore, or... something.
Better call the meeting now, Tyrant thought, and lifted his head. A series of loud, rumbling barks was released, calling his gang members to the Hollow.
