Dark chocolate eyes widened as a huge creature suddenly sprang from the bushes. It stood, staring at her and her friends, and in the moment of silence Aphro took in his ragged appearance and her heart twisted in sympathy. He stood over a head and shoulders above her, but that did not phase the kind ridge-back. She took a step forwards, a friendly smile flitting across her muzzle, and opened her mouth to welcome the wolf…
Then, everything changed. It happened so quickly, and Aphrodites barely had time to take everything in. The wolf leapt, attacking Cody, then turning on Espio. This happened in a matter of seconds, and the female barely had time to step backwards, shock plastered across her features. Then, the brute charged at her. She closed her eyes, bracing herself for the blow, knowing only too well that she had no time to dodge…
The pain never came. Aphro opened her eyes slowly, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Espio lay at her feet, the dark fur of his throat stained with blood which flowed freely, staining the snow. Horror made her chest tight as she stared down at him, and the surroundings suddenly seemed to fade, bringing his injuries into sharp contrast. Sounds faded into a meaningless blur. Was he dead? She doubted she’d be able to bare it if he’d died protecting her!
No. His sides were moving. Relief coursed through Aphrodites, but it was soon replaced by fresh grief as she lifted her head to study the rest of her surroundings. Cody was staggering towards her, and Rade lay crumpled on the floor. Both were badly injured, but alive.
Why? Aphro’s mind screamed as she thought back to the wolf who had done the attacking - Laion had come and gone in the time it had taken for Aphro to open her eyes and study Espio, and so she didn’t spare a thought for him. She shook her head violently. Now wasn’t the time to ponder the motives of the ragged stranger. She had to help the injured!
But where to start?!
She was crouching down to inspect Espio’s wound when Valentina arrived on the scene and fixed her with those icy blue eyes. She returned her gaze, if a bit shakily.
”I’ll tell you later… right now, we’ve got to get… Oh god!” Aphro had just seen Rade, his eyes bloodied and useless. She glanced down at Espio and suddenly felt torn. She was so close to Rade… she would only have to take a few steps to help him. But something urged to her to stay with Espio…
But Cody and Valentina were both crouched over the fox-dog, and Rade was unattended. So, although it made her heart twist with guilt to leave the dog who had almost died protecting her, Aphro skirted him and quickly trotted to Rade’s side – the dog who, although she didn’t realise it now, had lost his sight also protecting her.
”It’s ok,” She murmered gentley, licking his muzzle. ”We’re here. You’ll be alright.” She kept her voice even and sure, although she was physically shaking. It wouldn’t be alright. She doubted Rade would ever see again.

Large auburn paws pounded the snow, leaving large foot-prints. Dark eyes blazed in a head that was lowered to aid his speed. Behind the large auburn canine, an Esterela Mountain dog ran, long fawn fur billowing behind her.
Tyrant and Reverie burst through the last barrier of foliage before the borders and the disastrous scene filled there vision in the near distance. They both increased there speed, practically flying across the ground, their muscles pumping.
Tyrant’s dark occuli first went to Valentina. When he realised she was alright, they flicked to his sister. She was also uninjured. Relief flooded through him, but it was short lived as he took in the rest of the damage. Two gang members - Espio an Cody - were hurt, along with a husky who was a stranger to Tyrant. The Top Dog felt a rare burst of anger as he paced to Espio's side. He noticed his flank rising and falling and allowed a small smile to flicker across his maw. At least the dog was alive, and in good hands. He stared down at the wound, then lowered his head.
"Your sister's coming, Espio," He murmered in the dog's ear. "Hang in there."
He nudged the brute's muzzle gentley, then lifted his head to gaze gravely at Valentina for a moment. He gave her a swift lick, glad she was safe, then turned about and padded over to Rade. The sight of his damaged eyes caused Tyrant's heart to twist in sympathy. His pad-falls were immediately quiet, his breathing muted.
"Hello," He murmered sincerely to the dog. "I have yet to learn what happened, but you have been gravely injured on my borders. You will be cared for as a gang member, and you are welcome to stay as long as you wish." Tyrant's voice sounded slightly guilty. He knew he shouldn't, but he almost blamed himself for what have happened... he should have been there. Should have protected his friends, his gang members, those he was resposnible for.
Tyrant didn't suspect Rade of being the attacker. He was a stranger on the scene, which made him a suspect, but Aphro was there next to him, and she would have told him if he was guilty.
Turning his head, Tyrant scanned the dogs for Trissacar, hoping that she had followed. He needed the shaman more than ever.
"Triss?" He barked urgentley, leaping away from Rade, into the middle of the group of dogs so, if she was there, she could see him clearly.
---
As Tyrant padded, immediately, to Espio's side, Reverie simply stood and absorbed the scene. Anger bubbled within her, and her eyes began to blaze. Whoever had done this would pay... and as the oldest, and only, guardian of the pack, she felt it her responsibility to ensure that they payed dearly.
Her eyes began to search for someone to bring on a scouting mission with her, but everyone was either injured or occupied. An impatient growl escaped her lips, and her claws sunk into the soil. Her nose was lifted to see if any were close by, and she caught the the scent of Laion. If he was still around, he would do. He may have been a moany brute, but he was a brute. The sheer size of a wolf could come in very useful in these circumstances.
So, Reverie lifted her head and allowed a scratchy, doggish howl to escaped her lips, calling for Laion - and anyone else uninjured in the immediate area.

As soon as Jake loped into the area, he heard a call, calling for anyone that wasn't injured to come.
Well, looks like I'm on top of the game. Jake thought, his muddy orbs searching the area.
Tyrant had stopped and was leaning over a few injured gang members.
Jake stopped too, just out of the circle of dogs, one paw held tenitvly in the air. The Dalmation's black and white hackles raise involentarily as he smelt the scent.
Wolf.

Rade gently lifted his head. The sound of dogs were all around him.He turned to the first voice he heard. It was the Fae he had tried to protect from the 'wolf dog'. He knew that he must have looked sick. But then another dog. Then a hint of importance in his voice. All Top dogs had the same hint of importance. Then a reassuring phrase. You will be treated like a gang member and was allowed to stay for as long as he liked/ It made him feel better though he knew something was wrong. The other two dogs who had jumped out. He guessed there names from the talk. Espio and Cody. He knew espio was some near Aphro when the attack happened and cody near by. Though he hoped that neither of them were hurt. He tried to get up. But was caught by the pain in his chest again. Though he was not cold for huskies were a breed for winter. He knew something which Would affect his life. He would be blind for the rest of his life. And there would be challenges with it. Though he hoped that he would be able to cope. But not on his own. He had to join the gang for without them he would die. He wanted to help. Though knew that he was useless. "How is everyone else...........Who wa...was that dog...no wol...wolf dog." He looked up though seeing nothing he turned his head to the ground. He felt dizzy. And cold. Then he was surrounded with coldness. He had fallen unconscious.

OOC: Waah! Espio!!! A few moments passed, then a black streak sprang over a bush, like an ebony angel. The fox-dog bounded over to her gang leader, maw hanging open at the sight. "Ty...Tyrant...what happened?" She looked at Rade and the bloody mess his face was in, and her brown orbs widened with shock.
She padded over to the husky's side as he crumpled to the ground. She had brought a few herbs with her, rolled into a clump of leaves deposited by a barren bush. Trisscar panicked, not knowing what to get for this dog... Running back to her bundle, she searched through it and found nothing... The small hybrid crouched at Tyrant's paws, shivering with guilt. "Sir...I don't...have...it with me..." she whimpered.
"Trisscar!" A familiar voice called her name, and she looked at Cody, with his leg injury. She beckoned him over and pawed out an odd herb. "Cody, this is horsetail, okay? It should help you." She gnawed at it and then rubbed the extract over his limb with her muzzle, pulling away as he winced. She chewed up a goldenrod poultice and spred it over the gash, then patched it up with a pawful of cobwebs. Cody dipped his head to her formally and backed away. Her friend had changed...so brave and serious, not at all like the puppy-hearted klutz she knew. The shaman threw herself at him, whining, "Oh, I'm so glad you're okay!" into his brown aud.
But then she saw what the Blue Heeler mix had been standing over. She gasped.
"Espio."
She was at his side in a single bound, sobbing as she looked at the throat-injury. A soft breath blew into her face as she nuzzled him, and she strained her ears to listen for a heartbeat... There. It was barely there.
Triss looked up at her half-wolf friend and backed away from the renard to gather up more horsetail, goldenrod, and cobwebs. She couldn't loose him. He, too, had changed. At the borderfight he was an aggressive, emotionless fox. But now...he was caring, and she guessed ready to sacrifice himself. She applied the herbs but kept the cobwebs aside, looking at the nasty wound. She pawed out a milky white flower. "This is a kind of snakeroot," she told Valentina in a low whisper shaken by sobs, "and if a wolf did this...it could have been...rabid... Could you help apply it? I don't know if I...can bear to..." She fell backwards after pushing the flower and the cobwebs to her, but Cody's side supported her.
"Triss...? Val?" Triss heard a weak whisper in a dark tone lightened by pain, and she whipped around to stare at her half-brother. Espio's odd indigo pools were opened to slits, and his mouth was moving a bit. She dipped her head closer to him and listened to another murmur. "...Aphro..."
Trisscar looked over at the female Ridgeback and called her name softly. "Aphro! Espio's awake!" she whispered breathlessly. She licked her brother's maw affectionately and padded to Tyrant's side, sliding down into the snow, shaking as she looked at Rade again. She could help his eyes, but he wouldn't see again. The shaman sighed sadly and watched Cody staring calmly and fondly at the tall fox-dog, his gaze never leaving him. Triss was confused at how calm he appeared, but as she looked at him again she saw his rump wiggling with a blur of a tail that she could have sworn was beating the air a hundred miles per hour. OOC: Fwee~ I like this new mini-plot! -pets Espio-

Relief fluttered visibly across her features as the scarlet femme lay eyes on her mate. Given the situation she couldn't force a smile for him, but gravely acknowleged his kiss and nodded to him, before turning her focus to Trisscar.
She stepped forward to lend a foreleg for her small friend to lean against as she broke down, but Cody was already behind her. She offered him a weak smile of gratitude that faded as quickly as it had come, then nuzzled her friend's ear and said softly, "I'll do my best." She picked up the white flower, and began to chew it carefully. Her eyes again rested upon Espio, listening carefully to his words but not saying anything. Her mind was lost wondering where Laion could be. He was rash, and a wolf himself. Hunting ran in his blood. She doubted it was him, but she could not thouraghly shake this thought from her head.
She lowered her maw and gently spread the crushed flower across Espio's wounds with her nose. How easy it was for her to imagine Laion laying there dying, herself in Triss's place...and if her wolf brother wasn't the one doing this, then surely he would be hunting him down. She shuddered. It was strong, but...
"Would some one please tell me what happened?!" she cried at last, drawing her maw away from Espio in te middle of pressing the cobwebs on. Her gaze shifted frantically from Tyrant to Aphro, although Tyrant knew no more than she did.ooc:will post with Laion and crazy wolf tomorrow. Very tired.

She had went on searching on her own seeing as no one had showed up. Oh well, she wouldn't let that keep her back from what she wanted. One snowy white mitt after another made light imprints in the slightly loose dirt. Sea blue optics had settled on what seemed to be a group of dogs. So, this is where they all were. A sly smirk formed as she watched them worry and slightly panic over an injured comrade. She did not go any closer but simply sat back and watched from a distance. All thoughts of them being a ferocious gang cleared from her mind as she now wished to scold herself for even thinking them close to it. Sure, she spotted a few that had some fight in them but the rest were some she wouldn't even want to waste her time on.
White and silver banner swung to the front as it wrapped itself around her front paws. A cold-hearted femoral she may be but the innocent never lasted and that she knew well. She scowled at the thought but it disappeared as a new smirk took place as she continued to watch with interest. If one spotted her then they would most likely not like the expressions she was giving but like she cared what they thought. They had their own way of seeing things and she had hers. Velvety silver ears stayed perked as she listened for anything she was able to hear. Gaze was kept on them as she awaited for someone to take notice of her presence. If one didn't notice then she wouldn't even know how they even called themselves a gang.

Rade gently lifted his head. Nothing he could remember nothing. But then it came flooding back. The attack. 'wolf dog'. Him blind. He smelt the air. Two others were here. One he thought was a shaman. But another. another who did not belong here. Just like him. He tried to get up. Though his chest pain did not come. He pricked his auds. Somehow he knew there was nothing they could do for his eyes. Though his leg joints which the 'wolf dog' had gone for were no throbbing. But he kept the pain out of his face. He walked along gently nose pressed to the snowy earth. With one last sigh he sat down. He tried to cover his eyes though it was useless. He lay down. He had no hope of helping anyone.

Tyrant watched as Trissacar healed, brown eyes following her urgently, muscles tensed, ready to leap forwards if she required assistance. But she did not ask for his help, and so he simply remained standing, observing the damage his gang members had taken from... from what?
Valentina's sudden frustrated cry echoed Tyrant's thoughts. He met and held her gaze, then stepped up to her and wound his neck around hers, resting his head on her shoulders. He embraced her tightly, breathing in her musky scent, then lifted his large head and met her eyes again.
"I wish to know too, Val. But we must wait. The most important thing at the moment is securing the safety of the injured. Once they are healing in Triss's den, we will talk with Aphro." He smiled at her, bending his head to lick her maw. He, too, was impatient. But he would not rest until he was sure he had done everything he could for his friends.
---
Aphro perked her ears at Triss's cry. She glanced quickly down at Rade to see him lying in the snow. Triss was running towards him now, and Aphrodites felt that she could leave him. The shaman would care for him. So, she leapt away quickly to Espio's side, eyes shining with unsupressed relief. As she halted by him, she felt as if a huge weight had fallen from her chest. She had been worried for him, and it had been awful not being able to stand by him and help him. But Rade had needed her more, and Aphro had taken the practical route. Now, however, she was free to do as she wished. She crouched by the dark dog's shoulder and licked his muzzle.
"Espio? You protected me..." Her eyes suddenly filled with tears. She wished he hadn't of leapt before her. She wished she was in his position. At least then she would have been the one fighting death, not standing aside, helpless and worried. "Thank you." She whispered, swallowing her sobs and shaking her pelt. She could not weep now. There were more pressing matters to deal with. Like getting Espio back to the woodland...
But Aphro didn't have to worry about that. Tyrant was soon by her side, gazing down at the fox-dog with a practical eye. Aphro turned to him expectantly.
"We're going to have to carry him..." Tyrant rumbled. Aphro nodded and moved round to Espio's other side, Tyrant crouching down to the dog's level. He forced a grin. "We're going to lift you, Espio. Stay still." He explained. Aphro then nosed Espio forward so that he was partially on her brother's back, secured in place by a limp black limb. Tyrant stood slowly, and Aphro slipped beneath Espio as he began to slide back towards the floor, so that he was draped across the sibling's shoulders.
ooc: MEEP! Excuse the horrible powerplaying... I will change that if anyone wants me to. It's just it woudl've taken ages to roleplay otherwise... xX; Anyway, yeah. Sorry! Also excuse the post's crapness. I'm uninspired-ish and kinda got writers block towards the end.

He felt another dog by him. Somewhat helping him. Then again came the roar of coldness. He tried to fight it. It was deeper and colder now. he knew he was to weak. He would have been able to defeat it. But he was in pain, Shock and he was alone. He let the coldness engulf him. He gently lifted his head to the dog next to him. Knowing these would be his last words for a while he told the dog "Thank you." He slipped away into a land of coldness. Knowing he would be out for longer he laid his head down. Once again he had fallen into nothingness. He had fallen unconscious.

Jake watched as the gang dogs milled around, some worried, some confused. Some hurt. Jake sat and started scratching his scabs in anxiety, but stopped as a few began to bleed.
He stood and looked around, quite unsure of what to do. A small fox-like dog was healing, and there was several on the ground.
But there was one that caught his eye. A large husky dog stood up, his eyes bloody. Jake stepped back, growling. But, the husky muttered a few words and collapsed again, unconcious.
Jake whined softly, padding forward. He sniffed the air, filling his nares with the metallic tang of blood, wolf, and other dogs. He didn't know how to help or what to do.

rade fell into a nightmare.
His mothers shouting. his father. life. shunned death trickling over.A shout a call. A call? He knew he would not be able to wake up fully for few hours but a sense his only sense came alive. Sound. He could not wag his ears but could hear. A call for a Shaman. Then he remembered the dog somewhat helping him. Then a snarling growl. A dog. But then it seemed as if he could only let the sound barrier open a few more seconds. Dogs pounding of with another dog on there back. He let the coldness cover his ears. The last sound of padding paws on the snow laden floor. he was alone in his battle. A battle though which he was determined not to lose.

As the renard heard Aphrodites crouching by him and speaking to him he gave a weak chuckle and a low murmur. "Heh...couldn't let you...get hurt...Aphro." He closed his eyes again as he was lifted onto the backs of the Top Dog and her brother.
Cody's blurry tail slowed down and swished around his back legs as he watched Espio and the Ridgebacks. He caught the Dalmatian out of the corner of his eye and trotted to him, cocking his head. He winced as his bad legs sent up shocks, but it had stopped bleeding thanks to Trisscar.
"Hello, who are you? I'm Cody!" he barked. So this was what his father would have looked like, similar to this, only without the cuts and scars.
A leathery black nose scented the air, and he pressed low to the snowy ground as only a herding dog could. His limp brown-and-white auds perked up as he caught sight of a wolf-like silhouette watching them from a hill. A low growl developed in his throat and vibrated it.
"Tyrant, I'm gonna go check this out," he told the Top Dog quickly before rising, ignoring the pains in his leg to bound up the hill.
He leapt for the femme, growling. "What? Who are you?" The Heeler mix halted and took her in with cool brown pools. It was another husky, not a wolf. Cody sighed with relief but still met her gaze coolly.
The fox-dog shaman watched as Cody limped up the hill. "Lord Tyrant, you may get them all back into my den. I need a look at that Dalmatian as well," she added, noticing Jake.
"I guess Valentina can help with the blind husky... I'll go ahead." She picked up her bundle of herbs and started to scurry into the gang's terra, but she paused and looked over her shoulder. Cody was growling at another husky, and she noticed he wasn't putting any weight at all on his injured limb. "Please get Cody back," she whispered before going on.
