Strider came to a clearing at the edge of the woods. He was tired and wished to rest. As he padded softly across the park, his eyes flitted back and forth to find any danger. He sighed. Strider never looked for danger, it always looked for him. He thought of himself as cursed dog. He thought of his mother and father. They and his sisters and brother had been put down, as the humans called it. He looked up at the sky. We're they trying to help him, even now? No, they couldn't help him. They we're... they we're. A soft pile grass lay beside a tree. 'No doubt each stalk was picked by a careless human,' he thought bitterly. But, at least it would serve for a nice warm and comfy bed for a night. Perhaps more. He layed down. A bark alerted him to his seances almost immanently. Lifting his head, he saw another german shepherd glaring at him.
"This is MY bed! Get out!" Strider just stared at him. He had taken on much bigger and fiercer dogs than this, and he almost always won. His years alone had hardened him. "I don't see your name or smell on it. If it HAD had your smell on it, I dare say I wouldn't have come near it because of the stink!" The dog growled. Strider smiled. He got up, carefully. "If I were you, I'd go away. You don't know what I can do." The dog just stared at him. Strider sighed. He'd have to fight. THAT much was obvious. Quick as a whip, Strider bit the dog on the shoulder. With a yelp of surprise, the dog ripped Strider's teeth out of him, causing him to howl with pain. "If you liked that, come here like a true dog and finish it." growled Strider, his ancestor's instincts burning in him like a flame.
"No way! You can have my bed for all I care!" yiped the dog in a higher vioce than he had used when he first meet Strider. A smile played on Strider's lips. "Good."
