Strider sighed and flopped to the ground. 'Looks like I'm not going to get any information today,' he thought sadly. He could tell from the look Triss gave him that she needed him to tell her where it hurt. "My paw's pretty hurt, and I really don't want to move it. My other wounds can wait, but not my paw, please," he growled, letting his head fall on his uninjured paw.
His ears pricked and his eyes watched Tyrant, Laion, Valentina, and Reverie enter. He watched them. His optics lingered on each in turn. Strider liked wolves. They had always helped him as a pup, and was brought up to believe that most of them weren't as bad as most made them out to be.
"Reverie, what happened?" he asked. She was one of the only ones Strider knew very, due to his solitary personality.

His ebonite auds discovered Reverie before his eyes did, and Laion turned his blue gaze to the entrance even before she came flying in. He caught her snarl and withdrew himself closer to the wall. He gave her a reproachful look, but Valentina could see he was hurt by this.
Then the shaman's words caught his ears and he looked to the valerian roots, a look of utter fear on his face. He began to inch away from them, and Valentina couldn't help but laugh at him. He throws himself into a day-long fight to death with a wolf a full head taller than he, not so much as yelping with a fang punctures his flesh to the bone, and yet when a little fox-dog tells him to eat a plant, he cowers like a pup.
"Cut it out and eat it!" she said, once again putting her paw to his shoulder, pinning him against the wall. He gulped, and she nudged she valerian toward him with a malevolent look in her icy eyes.
She removed her creamy mitt and turned away from him with a sly smile on her face, and she could hear him sigh defeatedly behind her, although she never followed through finding out if he actually ate it. As soon as her back was to him, the wolf simply shoved the herbs behind him, and slid heavily into a laying position, his golden maw resting on his matted foreleg, as the blood from his face slowly dripped into the gleaming black fur of his leg.
A bright smile dawned the husky's maw as she laid eyes on Reverie, who stood by Tyrant at the entrance. She nudged her friend's ear in a quick, affectionate way, but when she stood back from the two her face was again weary and serious. She'd overheard most of their conversation, and her mind was trailing somewhere along the lines Tyrant's was. They needed a defense.
"We're lucky Laion was here," she said somberly. "There would have been nothing preventing him from busting in here and finishing off the job..." her eyes flicked around the den. "I mean, we could probably fend it off after a while, but...look what it did to a group of dogs in no time at all. There would be casualties," she spoke the last words quietly. "We need to do something. There's no telling when the next attack will be."
"Oh, not too soon I gurantee ya!" Laion piped up from across the den. Valentina looked at him curiously, crystal eyes narrowed. "Tore a hole in his throat 's big's my paw!" At this he held up his enormous mitt, browned by the earth, black talons gleaming and leathery pads cracked. The scarlet half-wolf cringed.
"And he lived?" she asked incredulously.
"Didn't get nothin'..." Laion said with an injured tone, as though he was ashamed of the lack of damage. Valentina nodded to him and he looked away, resting his head again.
"Well that buys us some time, but no telling how much." she trailed off, looking to Tyrant and Reverie for ideas.

OOC: -pokes- Well Aphro can help out, so...
Trisscar smiled at Strider and said quietly, "Well, tell me if it's broken or if there's an open wound. For now cover it with this..." She spread some of the berries onto the goldenrod as she chewed it up and spat out the mush onto a leaf, which she dropped by Strider's paw. "It'll help heal it." She crouched by him and prodded it with a tentative black mitt, seeing it wasn't broken completely and that she would be able to fix it. She glanced sympathetically at him and turned for the valerian, seeing it was not there.
Yes, I gave it to Laion, she thought, padding cautiously over to the wolf. She saw a glimpse of the herb behind him and she told him quietly, her head dipped low, "You'd might as well eat that if you don't want it to hurt." She was already pulling cobwebs and other common herbs toward her -- also shaking out seeds from a poppy flower, which would dull the pain if he chewed on them, at least -- like the golden poultice. She was very afraid to come near, but she managed to dab some of it on his cheek before pulling away in case he snapped at her. After doing this a few times she dressed it with simple cobwebs and a dock leaf.
An injured howl sounded wildly from the outside, and a white figure sliped in, collapsing. Cody's whole leg was blood-red, and to make matters worse still bleeding. The webs she put on had peeled off as he ran, frightened by the sight of something. Trisscar ran to him, pressing her ebony cheek against his ivory one. She nuzzled his limp brown-and-white aud and then glanced at him, turning to the rest.
"He's got a pretty high fever, but I don't know where he was. Wasn't he following you...?" she inquired, glancing at Valentina. With another injured dog to take care of, the shaman was worn out. She reached for the short cattail and crunched at it. Soon it coated his wound, stopping most of the bleeding. She gave him the common herbs but decided to wait to heal him with anything else.
I'm forgetting something, she thought, and she looked at the blind husky with a sigh. She went back to the black nightshade leaves, and once she felt the juice she squeezed it out over his eyes. Most of the blood washed away, and she spat out the leaves with a grin.
The vixen turned again to Espio, who didn't respond when she prodded him gently. Thinking him dead, she dipped her head toward his chest and heard the steady pounding of his heart. His eyelids were tightly shut and his lips lifted a little as a small dream-growl was emitted. He murmured someone's name that she couldn't catch, and the healer decided to leave him alone. She applied her golden poultice to his neck wound as he slept, locked into a nightmare he was trying to escape. Triss looked at all of the other dogs, then lay next to him, her head on his shoulder, her wide brown orbs sad.

Pain shocked through Rades body. Not the pain of the real world. No it was the pain of the Memorys. He felt something through his eyes. Though he thought nothing of it. He remebered his humans. But the car. He remembered where it had hit him. He had though got through the many years. His front right leg. And his under side. He remembered the deep, deep slash across his somach. The scar should still be there. But his front leg. He had not put much weight on it for a while. If you had looked closer you would have seen him limping. Though as he rememebered it pain struck. He was reliving his dream. Though he knew somehow he was moving in the real world.
Then he hit a wall. Right on his leg and under-side. Pain struck through it. Somehow he must have hit with so much force that it had dislodge the bone. He remembered the blood, his owner the lifeless form on the floor. Though through all that he remembered his base camp training. He had stood firm. He had let whimpers through, but he had kept his head. He had looked for somewhere to sleep. Like now.

Aphro nodded at Triss's question, padding to Laion's side. He was obviously scared, or nervous... or something. She turned her gaze on Valentina and a small smile flickered across her lips, despite her wretched setting. Sisterly love... She thought, and glanced at Tyrant before turning back to Laion.
But before she could do anything to help him, Triss darted in and began to apply some herb or another to the wolf's wounds. Aphro watched, standing ready to help if Triss needed it and silently marvelling at the fox-dog's talent at healing, and at her endurance.
Finally, the shaman went to Espio and lay beside him. She looks worn out. Poor thing. Aphro thought, sighing, then turned to Tyrant, Reverie and Valentina, standing at the entrance to the small den. Aphro trotted up to them and settled next to her brother, who turned to lick her ear. He looked at Valentina and nodded, shooting a grateful smile at Laion before turning back to his sister.
"Aphro, can you please tell us what happened now?" He asked. Reverie turned to the female, and Aphro nodded.
"We were at the borders - me, Espio and Cody - greeting Rade. I don't know why he attacked... but he did. A wolf. The same one, I'm guessing, that Laion fought with. He leapt into our midst, and was out again before I even had time to properly register what was happening... he had caused so much damage. I don't understand why anyone would do that..." She trailed off, shaking her head. Tyrant shifted closer to her, and she rested her head on her shoulder. Both siblings looked worried, but while Aphro was wide-eyed and despairing, Tyrant's jaw was set, his shoulders square. Reverie looked him over with respect shining in her eyes. Her friend had always been a strong dog... that's why she liked him so.
"I'll set up a guard, Tyrant..." Reverie said, although she wasn't sure who would be in that guard. The only available, uninjured dogs that were present seemed to be Tyrant, Valentina, Aphro and herself. Tyrant frowned, as if he could read her mind.
"Yes. We..." His gaze swept over his three companions. "Will stand guard together. We'll take it in shifts... I think it's best that we stay here. The den provides shelter, and Triss can easily access her herbs."
Aphro and Reverie both nodded in agreement. Tyrant's plan made sense. The den was also easily defendable - it had but one entrance. But that also posed a problem - there was no escape route.
Reverie, who had been thinking this, growled to herself, drawing herself up to her full height. An escape route would not be needed. She would not let their wolven attacker anywhere near Triss's little cave.
ooc: Bleh. Don't like that post. I don't have any inspiration for meh charries on LOTN at the mo'.

Jake followed the fae to the dens, feeling slightly weaker than before. The gruff female had leapt ahead of him, fueled by adrenile and power. Jake followed, but not with his normal vigor. And he still had no clue what was going on. All he was doing was following.
The black and white brute halted in front of the cave, slightly winded. But, as he took air in, there was the metallic smell of blood and the musky scent of wolf- the one who had attacked.
Jake felt the short hair along the base of his spine rise, but made himself stay under control. A small fox dog was healing. But, a flicker of movement in the cave caught his eye. The blinded husky was there.
And something wasn't right.
Jake paced foward, his folded auds perked, tail straight and quivering slightly in the snowy air.
"Hey, hey you. Are you okay?" Jake asked Rade.

Words rang through his mind of another dog. He looked around. Still he was at the crash though he felt sick. He looked around. Everything was changing, Blackness came to him. He jumped up landing on his broken leg letting out a large whimper. He felt something trickle down his underside. He lifted his nose and smelt the tinge of blood. The dogs were talking.
He remembered it all. The dog that had spoken to him before he woke up. THough he was feeling coldness he fought it of. Still feeling slightly sick he lay down. "Wha.....what happen?"
