Sabre finally walked back to the clearing with what seemed to be three rabbits and about five mouses. He gave the best grin he could while carrying his pray. "I've done as you have asked Lord Tyrant," he said in a bit of a happy tone. He out down the pray in front of him so it could easily be seen. He gave a bow before looking up one more to see how he had done.
Amaya came back but with a little less luck. She had brought a rabbit and three mouses. She clearly wasn't good at hunting but had tried for her Lord anyways. She put them down and gave a bit of a sad yet happy smile. She didn't say anything though as she really didn't have anything to say.

Before Suia could answer his question, both Sabre and Amaya emerged from the brush with prey hanging from their jaws. Tyrant smiled kindly as the dead animals were dropped before him, casting a fair eye over both before turning to the two dogs before him.
"Well done, both of you," he said, dark eyes flicking from Amaya to Sabre's face. "Now, for the last challenge. This one is quite easy, really. I am going to stand right here, where I am now, and you two are going to walk into the woods for forty paces. Then, you're going to turn and, on my bark, race towards me." He said, adding, "It's not a race against each other, remember that."
Tyrant gave a nod, signalling them to get moving, then turned tail and trotted to the far side of the Clearing.

They both did what he said and walked to where they were suppose to start. Both of their tails were wagging in excitement knowing it would be over soon and all the work they did would come back to show what they could be. They both gave each other a friendly smile understanding that it was not a race.
Sabre stretched a little to get the tension out of his muscles. He gave his fur a good shake before looking at the path they were going to run through. 'Ok, this is it.' He gave a grin as he looked over at Amaya who also was getting ready for the run. He couldn't help the excitement of finding what his hard work brought him. Whatever he would be he would make sure to be as good as his Lord wanted.
Amaya couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. She took a couple of good stretches before looking at the path that she would have to take. Even though she was nervous her tail was wagging like an excited pup. She kept switching on which leg to lean on. She needed to prove that she could do something for her Lord Tyrant. 'Ok, let's get going.'

Tyrant smiled as he watched the two dogs disapear into the woods. He waited for a short while, giving them time to stop and get ready, then lifted his head, his jaws parting slowly. A low bark formed into his throat, escaping harshly from his jaws and echoing about the forest.
Lowering his head and running a tongue around his lips, Tyrant glanced at Suia, the femme whom he had come to quite like over the short period of time in which they had known each other, and smiled. Then, he focused on the trees, waiting for Amaya and Sabre to emerge, dark eyes keen.

Sabre sped off when he heard the bark to go. He went as fast as his feet could take him. He kept his breathing steady, trying not to get tired so quickly. Small amounts of dust lifted into the air as his large paws hit the ground.
Amaya took off as she could her the bark signaling to start. She was quick and light on her feet as she concentrated on getting to the finish point. She was right beside Sabre at the moment but seemed she was gaining more speed.
He could see the finish line and that only made him run faster. He took a quick glance at Amaya to see how she was doing. It seemed like she was doing a lot better. She was currently in front of him and was getting closer to the finishing point. He couldn't help but smile.
Her speed grew quicker as she came closer. She came to a halt as she reached the finishing point. She gave a tired smile as she looked over at Tyrant. "Finished," she said as she tried to catch her breath. Sabre came a bit after her. He sat down with a grin on his face.

Tyrant smiled joviantly as Amaya reached him, followed a few moments later by Sabre. He got slowly to his feet, beaming at both of the dogs before speaking.
"Well done! that was excellent!" He began, twinkling eyes flitting from tired, yet happy face to tired, yet happy face. "I have decided, using these tests as the basis of my decision, what ranks you will hold from now on. "Amaya. From what I have seen, you are light on your feet, welcoming, and intelligent. I award you the position of scout." His smile broadened and he inclined his head at the femme solemnly, before turning to Sabre.
"Sabre. You are strong, and obviously a talented hunter. I award you the position of hunter." The top Dog gave a low 'whuff', signalling that he had finished talking, then gazed happily at the newly appointed dogs.

Strider eyed what he would have to do. 'I wonder what position I'll get,' he thought. Shadows threatened to swollow him up and Strider rose when Amaya and Sabre were awarded their jobs. He sat a little ways away from Tyrant, but close enough so that if he was called forth, Strider would be there. He would make this place his home, for as long as his memorys alowed.

Amaya couldn't help the smile that she gave. 'I've made scout? She gave a nod and sat down. She was happy that she had actually gotten a position and would make sure to do her job. Her tail wagged quickly at the new found news. She looked over at Strider who seemed to be waiting for his next task. 'I have nothing better to do so I'll just stay here and watch how he does.'
Sabre gave a toothy smile at his new found rank. He would hold it proudly and do the best he could. 'I hunter, huh? Well, lets see just how good this rank can be. He gave a nod approving of the position given to him. He on the other hand wanted to go back and rest. "Lord Tyrant, I will be going to rest now if that is ok. He tone was have questioning.

Tyrant inclined his head at Sabre, dismissing him so that the male could return to the Hollow. As he lifted his head again, he spotted Strider out of the corner of his eye.
"Oh, Strider. I'm sorry." He said, turning his large crania to look at the alsation. "I have already decided on your rank. Reverie has given me some information, and I have seen you tracking already." He gave a kind, slightly humerous smile.
"I have decided to award you the position of hunter. Although this may only be temporary, we shall see." Tyrant inclined his head again sombrely, before slowly getting to his feet.
"I'm going to head off to the Hollow, too." He announced, then turned and began to trot off, glancing over his shoulder to give Suia a warm smile before disapearing into the trees.
ooc: Ok. This is the thread just before he finds Valentina and Reverie arguing, so nobody post in the 'so this is it' thread from this thread unless they either pretend that they had been there all along, or that they had just arrived back from doing something while Reverie and Valentina were in the fire.

Strider's heart lept as he heard his rank. Bowing to Tyrant, he got up to go hunting. 'I'm a hunter!' he thought, his heart still pounding. 'If only Mother and Father could see me!' His face almost fell at the thought of his parents, but he shook his head and lopped off to find some prey that he could bring back.
