Striding towards the lake came Tyrant, his auburn pelt shining in the hot sun, a thin layer of sweat turning his fur darker in places. His gentle, chocolate eyes were smiling as he surveyed his surroundings, absorbing the twittering bird song and enjoying the heat on his back.
Things were settling down again, and Tyrant, being the optimist that he was, was certain that gang life would soon resume normally. He glanced behind him to check that Valentina was following and flashed her a warm smile.
He was heading towards the place where he had asked Val to be his mate two seasons ago, to be alone with her and to speak to her in private. The lake was a quiet, serene place. A perfect setting in Tyrant's opinion.
Finally arriving at the bank of the strech of gentley glittering water, Tyrant sank to his haunches. His brown eyes absorbed the pretty water, laughing the light of the sun as he waited for Valentina to sit beside him. Subconsiously, he was taking up the position he had when he had first proposed to her. He smiled as he realised this and glanced behind him once again, heart bursting with warmth towards his mate, who had been through so much lately.

((OOC: eep..took me a while to find this!! lol))
The wolf-dog's pretty features were poised in slight frown and blue eyes glittering with worry, as her mind replayed over and over again the fight with Jaegar and her missing brother's injuries. She sighed. She knew he would be okay, but she still didn't like not having him around.
She had fallen a few paces behind Tyrant, whom she had been following without even paying attention to where they were actually going. She looked up sadly to his retreating hind quarters, and this melted her icy eyes. A small grin accompanied her softened expression as she realized where he was leading her, and she bounced forward a few steps to trot in pace with him, touching her maw to her mate's ear now and again.
She forced all thoughts of the wolves from her mind, and just relished the hot sunshine that illuminated her scarlet fur, which made it shine almost gold. The yellow green grass and sparkling blue water stretched before them, and she flicked her velveteen ears up, thinking that weather like this could not permit one to be depressed or worried. It was a beautiful day and there was no one in the world she'd rather be with.
Ty fell back onto his haunches on the shore of the lake, and she stood back watching his blurred silhouette against the sparkling water, eyes shining with affection. He looked back over his shoulder, and she padded forward, sat next to him, then laid down in the warm grass. Her slender limbs stretched beneath her and she rested her creamy maw on her arm, gazing up at him with those bright blue eyes. She wasn't sure if he'd had something in particular to talk about like the last time they'd been here, but she hoped he was as happy to finally be able to rest as she was.

Tyrant watched as Valentina settled beside him. His eyes glowed with a passion rarely seen in the mild dog, a passion he reserved for those nearest and dearest to his heart. He gazed happily at her for a moment, observing how perfect she looked with her head rested delicately on a single cream and strawberry leg, her smiling, sky-blue eyes gazing up at him with the cunning and determination that he admired so much in her.
As he looked upon his mate, all thoughts of discussing serious matters filtered from his mind. It didn't matter. It was over. Laion would come around in his own time, and anyway, there was always tomorrow. Tyrant smiled, his expression sleepy and content, and slipped into a lying position beside Valentina, shifting closer to her and nuzzling her shoulder gentley.
"Aphro and Espio looked pretty happy back there," he chuckled, warm chocolate eyes gleaming as he gazed over the lake, head straight, ears slightly cocked as he absorbed the pleasent surroundings. The water glistened beautifully in the light of the sun, beginning its descent from its midday point in the sky, and the air was filled with the sweet aromas of the various flowers which thrived in the fertile soils around the lake.

The wolf-dog smiled and nodded in agreement, remembering back to her and Tyrant's first time alone--in this very spot in fact!--and figured that back in the Hollow, there was probably a repeat of what went on between them going on between Aphro and Espio. "It looked like it, didn't it?" she said absent-mindedly, her thoughts still running the course of that winter night. It seemed so long ago.
She sighed wistfully and her gaze roamed over the beautiful landscape; soapy blue sky, glowing yellow-green grass and brilliant bursts of flowers about the park. Finally her blue gaze fell back to Tyrant's contented face, and a playful smile dawned her pretty features. She leaned back toward him after he nuzzled her and licked his cheek. "We're so lucky," she whispered in his ear, referring to the picturesque scene before them and leaning her scarlet head against his.
Her pleasant thoughts were interrupted only briefly by Laion's bloodied face flashing through her mind, and she pulled away from Tyrant to stand up. She squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head in an attempt to rid the image from her mind, but then her blue eyes flicked back to Tyrant and she covered her odd behavior by shaking her entire voluptuous body from nose to tail, as dogs usually do when wet. Not wanting to spoil the perfect moment or worry her mate, she willed her brother's face to disappear and covered and thought of him by flashing Tyrant a mischievous smile.
She padded slowly to the water's edge, a small grin still playing on her face as she glanced over her shoulder at the rhodesian ridgeback then continued forward with an airy look as if she were clearly trying to look innocent.
She dipped her creamy paws into the cool, still water, breaking the surface and ripples cascading outward from around her ankles. The light from the afternoon sun sparkled and danced and lit up the husken-femme's stomach and strawberry sides. She curled her feathery plume over her back to keep it from getting wet, and when she looked back at her mate on the shore her eyes shone as blue as the sky above them.
Then, the instant after she caught his gaze, the silver water flew up all around Valentina, although she had appeared to be standing stone still in the shallow depths. The lake water rained down on the spot Tyrant had been sitting on the shore, although through the flying drops Valentina couldn't see if he was still there or not. When all was still again, the wolf-dog was soaked from throwing her front paws down as fast as she could to splash him, and she stayed like that, laughing, and ripples still emanating from her across the surface of the water. "Care for a swim?" she called out playfully.
ooc:I had fun writing that. :3 hehe

Tyrant nodded, resting his chin on Valentina's head and staring out over the gentley rippling lake. The way they sparkled reminded him of the way his mate's eyes glinted when she was feel mischevious, and he smiled to himself as he imagined this - oblivious to the fact that he was soon to witness the cheeky expression himself.
Suddenly, Valentina was on her feet, squeezing her eyes shut. She shook her head rather violently, and Tyrant made to get up, concern clear on his features. Then, Val shook herself in a trademark, flowing movement and offered him a playful grin. He relaxed, settling back on his haunches and watching her sidle to the river.
He caught the glance she threw him and was instantly suspicious. She was acting uncharacteristically innocent. Glancing from the water to his mate, Tyrant's eyes widened. He scrambled to his feet, but it was too late. Hundreds of droplets of H2O tumbled down on him, soaking him to the skin in a matter of seconds. He stood, dripping wet, looking a lot smaller than usual with his auburn coat clinging to his muscular body.
'Care for a swim?'
Tyrant choked back a laugh, deciding, instead, to play along with the equally soaking Valentina. His grinning mouth transformed into a playful snarl as he stared at the lieutenant, eyes sparkling.
Then, without warning, Tyrant sprang. He landed just short of Valentina and lifted a mighty paw, flinging a cascade of liquid at the husky-cross' face. Barking with laughter, he leapt around her, splashing further out towards the middle of the lake, tail thumping the surface and whipping the water into a milky foam.

Valentina's blue eyes widened for a split second as she saw Tyrant leap into the water, but instantly she closed them tight knowing his intentions were probably the same as her's. Instantly she felt the water pour over her and she screamed happily. Then she shook her head and flicked her velvety ears, her fur fluffing up and she attempted to glare at her mate as best she could. But watching him parading around in the water, she burst out laughing against her will and bounded after him snarling and laughing and splashing.
She chased him further out, but soon realized the extent of how much taller he was than she; she went under where he could still touch. She came up gasping and laughing, backed up a few steps and clambered atop a rock that rose above the water disturbed surface a few inches. Her scarlet fur was sleek against her body, and she didn't bother to shake, knowing that she'd probably fall in if she tried.
"You-!" she shouted with mock accusation, and attempted to direct a paw at him, but given the tiny, wet surface she was attempting to balance on, her entire body wavered and she had to bring her creamy mitt back down to steady herself. She hunkered down, laughing, then flashed Tyrant a warning by way of a mischievous look before she propelled herself from the rock at him, slender limbs outstretched and aiming to shove him under.

Tyrant grinned back at Valentina, laughing in surprise as she gave chase and quickening his pace. He turned back again when he had bounded a few steps in painfully slow motion only to be confronted with... nothing. Valentina had disapeared. Tyrant began to turn, water resistance pushing against him as he did so, but before he could twist more than 90 degrees Val surfaced beside him, spluttering and giggling.
Tyrant chuckled as she swam away to clamber onto a slippery rock that jutted from the lake. She perched there nimbly, and Tyrant arranged his features into an innocent expression as she shouted accusingly at him. He shrugged, giving her a 'who? me?' look, before turning his back on her to swim away from the rock, out of bombing range.
The Top Dog's sensible idea of removing himself from 'danger' had come too late. He had only managed to complete one stroke of doggy paddle when a pair of creamy paws rammed into his shoulders, followed by Val's entire body crashing down on his back. He went under with a gasp and struggled from beneath his mate to push his head into the air again, gulping and laughing.
The ridgeback swivelled to face the husky-cross once more and shook his head, sending drops of water flying left and right. Then, with a loud bark and a splash, he reared out of the water, forepaws extended, and brought them down forcefully, intending to dunk the lieutenant.
