Paws steps thread frantically through the alleys. Tsinga was almost loping through the alleys, stopping and setting down the pup that she carried, only to search a bin for food. She picked him back up and kept going, so far she had found no food, and if she didn't soon....TaintedLove wouldn't make it. She found a dumpster and raced over to it, she set TaintedLove down and hid him in a pile of old newspapers, then jumped up on a box, and into the huge dumpster. Inside the smell was overwhelming, it almost made her gag. But she had to find food, she roughly pushed aside a arge piece of cardboard and nosed around underneath it. There was nothing there. She whined anxiously and turned to the other side of the dumpster, grabbing the edge of a box and pulling it aside. She dug through a layer of newspaper and bottles. She stopped digging for a moment to sniff the spot, then continued. She smelled something and it was getting stronger. She suddenly felt her claws hit something hard, she looked down and there was a huge rock beneath her. She cried out in dismay, then started nosing around it trying to find a way to move it aside. The smell was coming from beneath the large rock, it was so close she could taste it. Becoming more determined she put her paws on the edge of the rock that was farthest from her and tried to pull back. The rock lifted a few centimeters off the ground, then fell bakc down as the exausted mother stopped pulling. Suddenly infuriated she began to dig directly on the object, ripping pieces of her claws off and making her paws bleed badly. Finally the rock tipped to its side a litte, seeing this, Tsinga began to dig more furiously, leaving blood on the sides of the dumpster and sending it flying out of it. the rock tipped further and further, untill it came crashing down on one of her paws. she yelped in pain and surprise and tried to pull it out. But to no prevail. She cried out again as she attempted to set her other paw down on the garbage that surrounded her. It was hopeless, but this didn't stop her. She rested a minute, then suddenly jumped backwards and her paw was ripped free of the jagged stone. The pad was torn off from it and three of the claws were missing. It was a bloody mess, but at least she had found some food. She snatched up the meager spoils of old meat and jumped out of the dumpster. Dropping the meat and falling down as her front paws hit the grund. She sld a little, then crawled slowly and painfully over to where she had hid her pup. He was nestled in the corner where the dumpster met the wall. Tsinga lay down around him, her blood surrounding both of them, and greatfully chewed the meat as the blind and deaf pup squirmed and squealed as he reached his mother's stomach. Tsinga had finished eating and lay her head down, she felt light headed, dizzy. Suddenly, she passed out.
